What to expect after you’ve made a payment with Splitit
So you just checked out using Splitit — nice! Here’s what happens next:
1. You’ll get a confirmation email
As soon as your payment goes through, Splitit will send you a confirmation email with all the details of your installment plan. You’ll see:
Total amount authorized
Your monthly payment schedule
How many payments you’ll be making
2. Your first installment will be charged right away
Your card will be charged for the first payment immediately. The rest will be charged automatically every month on the same date until your plan is complete. You don’t need to do anything else — it’s all hands-off from here.
3. A hold will stay on your card
Splitit places a temporary hold for the full purchase amount on your credit card. This isn’t a charge — just a way to guarantee you can complete the payments. As each installment is paid, the hold will shrink until it’s gone completely.
Example: Mike buys a $1200 product through split-it on Whop. Mike sees a $1100 hold and a $100 charge at checkout. After one month, Mike sees another $100 charge while the hold decreases to $1000. This process continues every month until Mike makes all his payments!
4. You can manage everything on Whop and the Splitit Portal
Want to view your payment schedule, update your card, or check your balance? Just log in to the Splitit Portal using the email you used at checkout. To request a refund on your purchase, use your Whop Memberships Portal.
