Here's how to add the Forums app to your whop:
From your dashboard, select which whop you want to add the Forums app into.
Once inside the hub view, select Manage apps.
Click New app, search for "Forums" inside the search bar, and add the app to your whop.
So easy! From here, you can configure the app as follows:
Click on the three dots next to the app in the sidebar view (appears as a gear icon if apps are spread across the top) and select App settings.
Under Details, you can change the app display name, logo (you can even upload custom logos), logo color, app description, and visibility status.
Under Configure, you can upload banner images, change the post layout, edit posting controls (only admins vs. all users), set email notification preferences (do you want to send an email to all users of this whop along with the forums post?), and even webhook this forums app to any Discord channel.
You can do a lot with the Forums app, including:
Sending announcements to your users
Pushing out promos/upsells to higher pricing tiers or different whops
Hosting targeted discussions for your community (like Reddit)
Posting testimonials or user wins
Pushing out individually paywalled posts
And much more!
Some key features to highlight:
All forums posts send a push notification to your users' home screens if they have the Whop app downloaded. You can also enable every forums post to automatically send an email as well (no app download needed)!
This is great for posting key announcements and promos.
You can paywall individual forums posts!
For the post you'd like users to pay to access/view, click on the small 'dollar sign' button under the actual post (to the right of 'GIF') and set your price.
This is great for monetizing large, free communities without having to get users to commit to longer-duration paid plans.
Below is an example of what a forums post would look like inside your whop hub!
